I've been waiting for this 98 CW ITR shell to come up for sale @ iaa in North Hollywood for about a little over a year now.

Every time i call they always tell me the same thing ''There's no title for it yet''.Finally they change the status on the listing .Here i am thinking ''YES'' they have the title in. Its only a matter of weeks before it goes up for sale.

I call them today in hopes that she will confirm that the title is indeed in ,Just as she says ''YES WE GOT THE TITLE IN'' She says ''But we're going to crush it'' WTF??? seems the car was involved in some kind of insurance fraud. I guess they caught the owner doing some shady sh*t and the car was involved. What a waste of a good rebuildable shell. And a waste of a year of waiting oOO well i guess 842 won't be getting a little brother this year maybe next year. sigh....... R.I.P

 

I think this is the only case where I recommend you steal an itr...

I feel you bro. I've had that 98' c/w on my iaa' list for 8 months now as well. I've been waiting on it forever .I could tell it was involved in something like A INSSURANCE JOB. With all the finger print dust all over it her . They finnaly found out he had done a inside job on his ride huh ?. What a ***..... He should of just sold it . or at the very least parted it out and sold the shell .And he wouldnt be in that position .Oh well some peoples children.

 

Why would the result be to crush a car that was involved in insurance fraud if they got caught? That makes no sense to me. I see cars that have the whole front end torn off get rebuilt and back on the road, at that point its a safety risk, this thing is only missing bolt on parts, its not structural damage. That's silly

 

Didn't know they crushed cars in California for insurance fraud. I know they crush if they discover stolen parts or if you get busted for street racing, but didn't know they crush for insurance fraud.

 

You should see if there is anything you can do to get it, I don't see why they wouldn't make some money off of it.

 

I thought you paid a fee so they wont crush it and then you buy the shell... some shiz like that. IDK but id be askin a lot of questions to try and save heR! Any R shell is worth trying to save!

I couldn't sleep last night thinking about this ITR.So i call IAA today to see if i can plead with them to at least not crush it.I got the surprise of a lifetime,It seems that they sold
the shell yesterday to someone .WTF???? Now im lost . The girl who helped me yesterday
wasn't very helpful ,she was having a power trip and wouldn't tell me much other them the owner was in jail i guess they said he stripped it himself and wanted to collect on the insurance, so at this point im not sure what happened and the information i got yesterday & today doesn't add up.At lease they said they sold it and im hoping its going to a good home. sigh...........

Well, its cool. I've also favorited that car on IAA as with the many other people on this board. It had to go to someone sooner or later. The site will continue to bring out some really good deals. Good to know you're looking at the bright side of things and thinking unselfishly.

 

thankfully they sold it instead of crushing it, unfortunate for you but look on the bright side atleast she may be alive again!

 

i wonder how in the world dude got caught. not that i recommend doing it but it's real easy to pull off felony fraud. take some girl you just met to the movies, have your buddy drive you car off. walk out, freak and freak out some more. call everyone you know screaming, call insurance, tell story, get your witness {chic you took to the movies} and a check comes shortly there after.
