AC line question B series swap.
I am putting ac back in my 91 hatch with a B series engine. everything fits fine, but my rubber lines off the compressor are about 2 inches away from my header. I know the lines are pretty close on a stock car, but should I buy some type of heat wrap to go around the hoses for added protection? Thanks for any help.

On my friends car,
shortly after we swapped it,the a/c hose melted and burst..
If memory serves me,He went to a place that makes hoses
and had one made about 1 foot longer than stock out of flexible
a/c hose..
The extra length allowed the hose to be routed around the fan shroud
and away from the heat source.

I'm running Innovative Mounts and their A/C bracket. All I did was heat wrap my lines, but I'm running the stock manifold with heat sheild as well.
Thanks for the info. What are you guys that have a header on a B swap using, if anything? I know someone on this forum has to have a header on their car with A/C.
I am thinking about wrapping the lines using some Thermo Tec heat tape that is for wires or hoses. Any input on this?

wrap might help but it will not save you...i had a hose melt and burst after it was wrapped.
your best bet is to secure the hose to the radiator with tie wraps. i also used pieces of old radiator hose on places where it might rub. holding up so far!
a hydraulics shop is your friend if you need hoses repaired or modified. i can take pics of my setup if you want.
