Default possible water in engine??

well tonight was raining real hard i was going home... i basically went through a puddle by accident when turning to a road... and my car died... i checked the filter... and tried my best to dry it out... the car barely started it was boged real bad.... and all of a sudden it was idling real fine... i quickly parked it and wrap tons of extra dry clothes from my car to the filter... and i drove it home another 5 miles....

the car runs fine it starts up fine like nothing happened....

their is no signs of damage as if it nevered happened..... but im still not convinced....

way to check to see if theirs little bit of water in the engine still?
