Default light weight wristpins

my k20 has a set of Wiseco light weight wrist pins since it use to be an allmotor block.

i plan on making 600 or really close to it. everything is there but the clutch right now. my other k24 i put upgraded wristpins in it since that seems to be the thing to do,but does anyone have any experience with light weight pins? is this going to be a weak link in my motor? how weak?

this is what it looks like the one on the right

almost all shelf wiseco's come with the light weight pins. If you are going to make alot of power or rev the crap out of it, get the upgraded pins.

these light weight pins are the "regular" pins.

I would imagine that detonation would kill those pretty quickly. I'd stick with old reliable heavy wall wrist pins, but that's just me.

They become real light weight when you pick up off the floor after they come out the bottom of an oil pan. Upgrade the pins and dont look back.

Definitely upgrade to the thick pin. Even the one on the left is light duty for a turbo car. The right one is for their high comp pistons

I hate to bump an old thread but I am researching Wiseco pins.
The lightweight pin is the SS561 which is only .138" thick

Is the left pin in the OP the upgraded .225" pin S733? Or a different brand?

I have asked a few people a similar question as the original starter of this thread asked.

Some stock K series pistons, rods, wrist pins, etc can take 600+ whp and last a decent amount of time, that has been proven. So, if one were to upgrade rods and pistons and use off the shelf Wisecos for the K series engines, you are going to be getting a set of wrist pins with the Wisecos that are essentially as strong or maybe not as strong as the stock Honda wrist pins?

I went with the upgraded ones... cheap insurance and peace of mind.

On that note, anyone needing a set of regular wiseco pins? I'll sell them CHEAP!, lol.
