Default Radiator support off of eBay?

Has anybody puchased a radiator support off of eBay before?

Some info on my car.. I bought it for $1250 (salvage title, no paint, a POS basically) with front end damage. Upon further inspection, my radiator support is pretty much TRASHED. I was wondering if buying a radiator support off of eBay would be a bad idea? I'm pretty sure they're knockoff parts and not OEM or anything, but I don't really care as long as it's straight and gives me good/decent fitment with my headlights and hood.

Here are some pictures of my car at the moment. Also, would anybody have an idea how much a shop would charge to uninstall my current radiator support and reweld the new one?

Thanks!

I can't see a problem with it.... Rule of thumb with ebay is anything that is solid like bars, mounts, and crap like that is good to go.... moving parts.. not so much.

I wouldn't trust it to line up, post up a WTB on your craigslist or call up some salvage yards for an oem one.

I'd say it's legit, 37K feedback ratings and a 99% feedback score... Sounds like a deal to me...

Noithing abut that looks legit.
It looks just like the 2 pos's sitting in my back yard.
50 bucks is a deal for brand new core support, but there is a very big reason it's cheep
They are junk.

HT is so anti ebay it's not even funny, I have not recieved anything that bad from ebay... I don't get why people hate so much yet it's completly okay to spend the way extra inflated prices on some so called "Brand Name" parts...

People sometimes loose sight of the fact were building HONDAS here. To each there own I guess.

It is ok to spend way more on brand name parts.
The word QUALITY pops up, everything on the front of my car except fenders was bought from ebay
I speak from experience, its garbage, but I agree to each his own

It's not ebay, its the no name pos junk on ebay.

Brand name product are quality products, that you know aren't going to be low quality pos when it arrives to your doorstep.

Also, when you say

I can tell you don't take as much pride in building a HONDA as many of us others do.

I bought hinges for my civic off ebay to replace some bent ones for my hood - and while they "looked" better than the ones I was replacing - they didn't line up much better at all

I replaced the radiator support about 2 months ago with one off of ebay. It is lighter than the OEM one, but I haven't had any problems with it everything lines up pretty good. If you can get the OEM one get it, if not then go ahead and get it from ebay.

I wouldn't get one from ebay, have a bodyshop give you prices, maybe if you know someone that works at one you can get it at cost. I got an aftermarket Keystone rad support and it needed work to line up, but you can bend em. Don't ever get aftermarket bumper covers though those things are poo.

Damn, from the responses in this thread it seems buying a replica off of eBay is either hit or miss.

I think I'll hit up the junkyard on my next day off and try to find a radiator support off of the plethora of stripped Civics. How hard is it to take one off?

You have to take the whole front end apart. Bumper, plastic covers, headlights, wiring, radiator. Then there's this brace held on by 4 bolts and the rad support is spot welded in place. You'll have to drill out the welds.

New would be easier.

I don't trust everything off ebay, especially this radiator support since it looks like it is a major structural component.

New would alot easier, but i think they are runing 300ish, I would grab a used one if i could and toss the pos i have now.

if i pull up and down, and i bend the core support, Doesnt seem very safe to me,
