dynoed the single cam
well i did somw baseline runs today here was my best being 131whp and 106lb.tq
92 d16z6
dc 4-1 header
99-00 Si aem cai
2.25 straight pipe to greddy sp
also no tuning was done to the motor,so it still leaves room for improvement

Holy **** bro!
There was a D16A6 thread on here that had a D16A6 with 130whp, but it had some crazy-*** cam in it.
Imagine your motor with a better cam and some tuning!
Holy geez that's very close to B16A territory, and it has BETTER torque too!

well that calculates to almost 159hp to the flywheel. that sucks for me because i have a D16Y8, OBD1, Crower stage 1, AEM CAI, DC 4-1, 5Zigen 2.25" cat back,AEM cam gear, and HX wheels... with new plugs and wires, and an oil change i only got 128whp, and 106ft-lbs of trq. post a graph! right on man!
well the thanks guys for your words, yeah i was very surprise with the results, yeah tom i want to get a cam for it i was leaning toward web cam adn i'm going to spray it with a 50 shot, but i have a hard decision to make either go to the darkside and boost it with a drag kit or do my whole suspension, brakes, cam and maybe some new shoes, about the times i haven't ran it yet but hopefully will this wedsnday

damn, thats pretty good!
For the two guys with the DC 4-1:
What do you guys think of that DC4-1 header? Did it make a decent differnece on the sohc? Have u dyno'd before and after the header? Cause ive seen a few dyno's with almost the same mods, and the dc 4-2-1, and they didnt get that high. So maybe the 4-1 is good for a few more hp up top.

well i definately felt an improvement over the stock header and didn't lose any lowend power
is the z6 the 92-95 si motor? if so, maybe that's why my friend with pretty much the same thing you got on yours, spanked a 91 4dr with a b16 I/H/E.
i dont recommend changing from a 4-2-1 to a 4-1 header if you already have a DC 4-2-1 header. there isnt much of a difference as far as HP/to how much money and time you spent. If there was some HP diff. its really minimal, like 1-2 hp gain t a certain RPM.
i have used both and I didnt feel or see any gains on the dyno.

I must say those are rather impressive numbers. After hearing this, I'm leaning towards putting the d16z6 in my sister's EF. I can't wait to see an upload of your dyno readout.
I'm not very familiar with the d16z6, so how do the power and torque curves normally look on dyno readouts? Is it a really peaky or does it have a good area under the curve? Or I should just ask how do you feel about the performance of the sohc vtec?
