Toda Killers
I'm putting together a few things and I was just curious to know a couple things about the toda killer cams. I know they delete your lma's, but do you also have to use a full stand alone for them, or can I just re-tune my old ECU for them? Also I'm curious as to know if the cams are worth it. Will they make that much more power than lets say skunk pro 1's or 2's? Or should I just go with a cam like those instead of the toda killers?
haha. You need full managment for those Erick's racing Toda D killer cams. No S-AFC or "chipped" ecus. The "killer" cams are for serious circuit (road) racing, as they are made to be in the upper RPM band ALL OF THE TIME. Unless you are serious with the build in compression and that particular purpose, there is no point in using them, and you should simply stick with the SKUNK2 family. Look to your needs and compare on the SKUNK2 site. And for heaven's sake, look at the entire powerband, not just peak power.
True. But you're not going to get much out of anything with an S-AFC or "chipped ECU" if you want good power from good compression, headwork and cams. there's really no way around it. So you need to evaluate the use of the car, a realistic power goal and use and be done.
