Greddy vs Skunk2
hey guys/girls! well as i mentioned before im pretty new to all this stuff so if my "noobiness" questions offend any of you plz bear with me. anyways! i was wondering wat kind of exhaust i should pick up for my 03 type s. i narrowed my choices down to the greddy evo2 and skunk megapower exhausts but cant decide. which exhaust would i get more performance from and would you guys recommend? appreciate the feedback thanks!!!
I have a Megapower R on my EP but always wished I went with Greddy. What I went with was millimeter piping. I'm pretty sure that the Skunk2 Megapower RR is 78 mm, which is larger than the Greddy's, I THINK. Idk, just research it.
Also, if you are consider something with large piping you will probably need to worry about your catalytic converter fitting so you might need it welded or just buy a hi-flow one.

i would actually recommend getting either the skunk2 mega power R or RR or a 3in thermal research exhaust system...they will provide the most power gains for the Type-S and be reliable in the furture for other mods whether it be NA or FI
skunk2 sounds little louder.
Don't wanna complicate things, but with similar budget, you may want to consider some type of 3" set-up such as Vibrant exhaust w/ 2.75" or 3" pipe + resonator. Or looking into what nahonda04 suggested is another option. If you do it right, it won't be unbearably loud. GL!

its more friendly on my wallet and from some vids i saw on youtube it sounds pretty good. hoping it wont be irratatingly loud tho
thanks for your guys suggestions! much appreciated

The Greddy exhaust just makes your car sound louder, the piping is 2.5" in the longer sections but it bottlenecks down to 2" or so near the flange joints. This is bad and restricts flow.
if you want a loud exhaust system then go with the skunk2. greddy evo2 is super quite. my engine/intake out tones my greddy evo2. but if you want power. forget the catback system just get a race header. for the most power from upgrading the exhaust system would be a race header. i rather spend $500+ on a header then a catback system. btw 400 bucks could get you a nice header.

Yeah i see what you are saying...but just a race header alone is not going to help very much. It will be very restrictive. 2.5" collector to 2" cat = sucky sucky five bucky.
lol. Kind of like the saying "a chain is only as strong as its weakest link".... well the same is true for exhaust systems.
"An exhaust only flows as much as the smallest bottleneck point".... or something like that
