Icon2 a/c problems

i have a 91 civic si hatch and my a/c compressor isnt getting any power. when i take a wire straight from the battery to the compressor it works fine but when i just plug it up it doesnt. is there a short in the wire? what could be the possible reasons for this? thanks

the pressure switch will prevent the compressor from getting power if the pressure is too high or too low. check to see if you have power on one side of the switch. if so, then recover what's in the system and refill with the proper amount. if you don't have power at either wire at the pressure switch then i suspect a break in the wire or possibly a fault climate control panel.
