Default s300 boost cut

Anyone with a s300 hit the boost cut safety control on there car. Just wondering what your experience with it was. Reason I ask is because I was running yesterday and first gear fine second fine then third went till we hit full boost at 32lbs and the motor just shut down no rpms no boost fell on its face check engine light came on I let off gas and it fired up and ran fine after that. just wondering if thats what it was or other possible things to check.

thats what its supposed to do, you can select "cut on CEL" as well...which is what also could have happened. Its a safety feature that kills EVERYTHING lol.

I stopped using it. I might use it in a blue moon on a new setup getting the boost dialed in .

just raise your boost cut limit a little or adjust your target boost.

If the car is tuned properly and you have the fuel system to keep up with the turbo you can shut the boost cut off. Select KPA as load and set to 0.

i have never had good luck with the data logger using the auto start per parameters, but the data logging works perfect for me on a switch.

Funny to see this post because this happened to me the other day while I was trying to do my licensing passes. it happened in 4th gear and ruined that pass. So we figured at 42-43psi why even have a boost cut and we removed it and it was fine.

yeah it sucks! I lost the first local event i went to with my s372r cause it was hitting boost cut and couldn't figure out what was going on... lol I found out later that night! It didn't do it on the way to the track and that night the air got cool and it started hitting boost cut around 8k to 8500 rpms. I just raised the boost cut 2 psi higher and never have a problem with it.

It does it in the higher gears due to more load to build boost with...

Why not use boost cut? What happens when you blow a WG line off? Boost cut is there to tell you something has happened causing overboost.

What if you don't care how much boost you run? I would like 50lbs out of my car but it simply won't build that much boost. So why would I need or want a boost cut?

what you are hitting is your boost cut. it is an instant quick shutoff like you mentioned. your car/setup is really capable of mid 10s even maybe low 10s if properly dialed-in. if you are tuning your car on the dyno at 32psi then try setting your boost cut 2psi above your target dyno boost. usually you'll see a psi or 2 gain when you fully load the car on the road and especially at the track. hope this helps!
