Default HID in Projectors

OK, i saw some projectors on a 2000 civic, (regular halogen bulbs) and there was a cut off line, actually looked pretty good. Can you put a HID conversion into a projector headlight? Howw does it look compared to the regular stock halogen headlight? Only reason i'm asking this in the Type R forum, is because you guys are more intelligent about HID's.

I like the intelligence comment since I post more in the teg forum.

If it is a quality kit, it will work well in projector housings. You should go for a kit with d2s capsules. A kit with corrected beams will maintain the cutoff. You can expect a little glare. It will look like stock halogen, but brighter.

ITR have projectors with 9006 bulbs. Phillips make an HID kit for all kinds of headlights including the 9006 bulb housings.

to get a true HID beam patter you'll need these to focus the light.

there's someone (on this board I think) that custom retrofits HID projectors from Audi/BMW's into (almost) any headlight housing --- for a price . I believe he has a current-gen accord, and retrofitted BMW HID projectors in it... looks crazy!

Yes, you can put HIDs into halogen projectors. Alot of people have done it to their cars including me on my old R. Just make sure you adjust the beam level so the glare doesn't blind oncoming drivers. For more knowledgeable people on HIDs...visit the Philips forum.

http://www.lighting.philips.com/foru...6/wwwforum.cgi

They have absolutely THE best HID people that post on there.

Here are some pictures:

Here is the cutoff picture from my 4300k Philips bulb and ballast pic. I had yet to adjust the proper level for both lights as you can see. The second pic is just a front on view.

nothing...i just bought the proper d2s bulbs...mind you, they are not beam corrected so they were throwing light a little off...but overall I was very pleased with them.

actually if you look inside teg (and all oem projector lights ) theres a plate in there to block off the light from going up and blinding oncoming traffic

The best cutoff line I've seen has been from Audi A4 projectors swaped into a Teg/Civic housing. You need to rip apart the original housing, position the Audi projectors inside and possibly create a "skirt" (for civic housings) to surround the extra space around the projector.
