Default planning on dc5 purchase bad tranny?

Im looking into upgrading to a dc5 for a dd. Just love the body. But why do I hear all these stories about bad tranny? Is it hit or miss. I hear k series 6spd transmissions are bad? Grind here and there. Been trying to research, but doesnt look like there is an absolute solution to this?

I get the occasional 2nd gear grind and 3rd doesn't go in all the way sometimes. Hopefully new shifter bushings and fluid change will help.

that sucks even more when you used the term "occasional".

some people have it, some people dont.. test drive the car and shift it youll know right away if it was abused or if its good to go.

most times a fluid change will help if you are experiencing the 2nd gear grind/3rd gear pop out. However, this is only a bandaid and will need to be properly fixed at some point.
