Default d16z6 to b18b1

so i have a 94 cx hatch with a d16z6 in it..and im ready to swap to an b18b1..i know i will need motor, tranny, ecu, harness, mounts, axles, halfshaft, and shifter linkage,...but my question is..since i have an obd1 harness in right now...for the b18b1 do i need to get the entire obd2 ls harness and p75 obd2 ecu for it to work??

i cant use my z6 harness for it to work properly? i know i can use it on a b18a1 but not sure if i can use it on a b18b1

Its easier to just get a 94-95 integra b18b1 and just plug in play the harness.
If you get a b18b1 obd2a you will need a obd2a engine harness.

i agree with the 94 95 integra ls unless you go with the jdm b18b then u need obd2 to obd1 jumper or change injectors intake manifold and alternator

Just to give you another opinion, I agree that using the older b81b1 will be the better choice. OR, if you already have possession of the newer engine, you can convert it to obd1 by swapping the alternator, distributor, etc. for the obd1 variants, or use an obd2 to 1 conversion harness.

If you use the older (OBD1) engine, you will need the engine, transmission, shift linkage, ecu, and mounts. You can re-use the harness from the d16z6 on the b18b1 if the engine does not come with one (the vtec solenoid plug obviously won't be needed).

You have several options, but the easiest (if you don't already have the engine) is to use the older b18b1 from the start. Everything will be bolt up and plug-and-play if you do. Hope this helps.

It would be the same as getting a obd1 b18b1 plug and play.
But if you get a b16 with a long gear tranny it won't really help much.

Excited about seeing some project pics. I'm gonna be hunting for a B16A3 or B18B1 soon too.

You all are not even sure that he is talking about using an LS transmission with a b16a. Why make these comments without clarifying first?

As for the b16a obd1 setup, you can use your stock d16z6 harness and simply swap out the ecu to control things.

To Answer the OP's Orignal Question, A D16z6 Wiring Harness Will work on a B18b. You will need to extend the wiring for the o2 sensor as it will be in the back now as opposed to the front.

I know this works as I did it when I swapped in my JDM 99spec B20b in place of my Smokey D16z6. Only Wiring left unplugged is the VTEC wiring.

these swaps are quite interesting. planning to get some of those upgrades in my 94 integra. should be a while though because of budget constrain. planning to do a complete upgrade with body kits etc.
