Default Quick suspension question.

Hey fellas picking up my 2010 accord exl v6 coupe next week, so excited. Had a quick question, If I go to H&R or Eibach springs will I loose ride quality? Or will it def. be a stiffer ride? Any springs out there with less of a drop and soft ride quality?

Hi ,I won't answer your question directly but lets look at what happens with lowered springs .

Lets say for example the stock car has a suspension travel of 4" , now we add lowered springs (modest 1" drop) and we end up with a suspension travel of 3" only .
So the vehicle doesn't bottom out on frame or bump stop there 2 ways to help this out.
1) use a uniform higher spring rate to compensate for lower stance .
This will give firmer ride through out suspension travel .
2) Use a progressive rate spring were small deflection has lower spring rates (closer to OEM) but with larger travel the spring rate goes up not uniformly . you can tell by looking at spring most times, how its coils are wound .
In both cases most time the bump stop is cut to help with the loose of travel, lowered stance .
If using OEM shocks/struts best to keep with small drop as possible as OEM are not designed to handle the higher rates of lowered springs. Depending on the road conditions expect shorter life of OEM shocks/struts .
