Default how to keep suspension from rusting??

I was wondering if there is anything I can spray/put on my threads of my coil overs to keep them from rusting??

It's the portion above the spring collar that's starting on mine. I would think in the future it would prevent me from threading the collar back up so is there anything I can do?

Could putting some type of grease on it help?
