CoilOver Spring Upside Down? Matter at all?
Just as the topic states, when I put together the shock assembly it was fine but then when I put it on I had to flip the assembly so the spring is upside down. This is the ground control kit with the eibach springs, my first thought is that a spring is a spring and doesn't matter what side is up. True?
cmmon now.....put that back together the right way....parts are designed this way for a reason ( to go on one way or the other), if not put on right it wont work and possible very dangerous
It doesn't matter, especially with the ERS springs GC uses. Think about it a second. Ok, what side do you think is up? the side that doesn't have the text that they printed upside down?? c'mon now. Without the text, would anyone know what side is up or down?? course not because it doesn't matter.
Even with tender/helper or progressive springs it doesn't matter. The spring together as a unit sees the same force. The weakest coils will still compress first no matter how you install it.

I'm curious why you "had" to do this.

It's been 2 years and I know a tad bit more about cars now. It's funny looking back now, could have been worst though.
