Icon2 Need a new transmission! JDM or Rebuilt?

I have a 2002 Honda Accord EX - 3.0 L V6 VTEC Motor and I need a new transmission for it. I have been searching for both used American(rebuilt) transmissions and used JDM transmissions. My dilemna is that I have heard that it's not worth rebuilding these transmissions as they will just fail again quickly and; I have also heard that buying a JDM transmission is risky because sometimes the wiring and programming don't match the American verisions. Can anyone help? JDM or American Rebuilt? Thanks very much.

Mr. MG Honda, you are correct in your above statement, these transmissions of ours are difficult and sometimes not worth rebuilding, mine lasted 190000+ miles so I think a rebuild would be ok. Being a "Shadetree" Mechanic myself, I trust no one but myself...that way I can squarely lay blame to the source. I am rebuilding my own B7XA.
I have found one vendor which has a good history and an extremely reasonable warranty(2yr/unlimited mile). Gator Transmissions out of Chicago has our B7XA transmissions on the shelf ready to ship, for 1200 plus 200 core charge and 250 for shipping, they will ship you a tranny, converter and all and returning core charge after shipping old one back (included in orginal shipping) If my Rebuild goes south then I fully plan to get one from them.

Good Luck in your endeavors
Kind Regards
