Default 2007 Odyssey AC question

In the past couple of days our 2007 Odyssey's (63,000 miles) A/C began to blow slighter warmer air than usual. As a result, I put in two cans of R134 into it. In the process I began to smell a slight burning smell, heard a low metalic grinding and the A/C blew warm air. The sound returned after I cranked the engine a second time. Thinking I over pressurized the system, I bleed some of the air out. I did this three times and the smell and sound went away. The A/C on the other hand has had little to no improvement. I have also read a frequent problem with small holes caused by road debris in the cooling lines just behind and below the license plate.

Any ideas on improving my A/C system, preventing or repairing the small holes and thoughts about too much pressure (R134).

Thank you

Bill

DIY is the death to most systems, you must completely remove all old freon by recycle machine or other ways and reservice exactly to the proper amount by weight. Now you need to add dye, buy a dye detector kit, special light and glasses, put just enough freon in to make the system work for awhile and pray that you can find the leak. Your compressor may have already granaded from overpressure though. Some components in the AC System are not visual from under the hood or under the car.

The burning smell may have been the AC Clutch slipping as it could not hold a good grip on an overserviced compressor that was seizing up, the metalic sound could be the compressor granading and now you very well may need a complete AC System replacement due to small aluminium particles throughout the entire AC System, flushing will not be good enough if this is all fact.
