Default 2007 Civic Torque Converter

My 07 Civic (60K) shakes when shifting between 2nd and 3rd. The dealer ran a snapshot and said the torque converter was bad. They are replacing the converter under warranty, but my question is, should they be replacing the transmission as well? Does a failed converter cause damage the transmission?

I believe just changing the converter may be fine. I know with the older Honda automatic cars people change the converters out all the time without touching the tranny.
