Default Rattling in my Cat converter

Okay i have this problem, i was noticing a rattling noise comming from under my prelude, i thought it was my Tanabe RM off one of the hangers. So i jack it up and that wasnt it. So i hit my cat by accident and i heard a rattle as if something was free in there. bang on it and it sounds as if a pipe is loose or something.
My question, my lude is a 99 and is there a warrenty that covers the cat replacement? I just cant see it just falling apart like that!!

it's your piston... looks like it fell off the rod and went into the cat! J/K I hit my cat really hard on a reverse speed bump once and it did the same thing. Turns out that I broke the honeycomb crap inside, and had to get a new cat. I'm not sure if your warranty covers normal exhaust issues, that may be something that you will have to take up with the dealer.

Are you sure its inside the cat and not the cat heatshield? Two of the bolts on my cats heatshield rusted away and made the heatshield loose and rattle like a **** on crack. I took it off along with the notorious b-pipe integra rattler and I was good.

i think warranty on.. at least the header is more than 36K or 50K miles.. they should cover it for up to ~ 70K miles.. don't know if rattle would be covered..

if its your cat, sometimes couple clamps could stop/reduce the noise

Change out the cat before it plugs up your exhaust and you'll have to buy a cat and new exhaust!

I think this might be the problem, because i took off the heat shield and it still makes a rattling noise. That car has bottomed out on alot of speed bumps
Im going to honda to see what they can do i know they will laugh in my face but maybe ill try
