ok i finally found some of the krylon stained glass paint after a week of hunting for it. i was j/w if on the JDM tails if they have got the reverse light white or is the whole thing red? thanks.

 

i believe the reverse lights are red, so just use some masking tape and mask it off

ok i will post some pics along with a complete write with pics to help out anyone.

 

took me about an hour and a half to tape around the edges, thanks to the curves. but its done so i will go paint them now. i sure hope they turn out allright

FYI.. all red tails aren't "jdm".. jdm tails are orange, red, and clear.. they just don't have the red on the side, in front of the orange..

 

i KNOW that the reverse lights are clear/white
and yeah all red tails do not = jdm tails

main diff in jdm tails is that it eliminates the red parking light on the side of the car. personally i dont even like my jdm tails because that was the light i would always look at to flash when i turned my alarm on/off and now i have to look at the brake lights to make sure
it is kinda neat that the signal light is visible from the side of the car with the jdm tails but overall i dont think they're worth it. i wouldnt have gotten em if my stock tails weren't all nasty from being full of water for so long

 

ok i did the first one. it looks really really dark. idk, i hope it looks better when i get it on the car. should i paint the middle section where it says 'Civic' or leave it? and can someone post pics of the real jdm tails on there hb? thanks

edit: are the SiR tail the same as the JDM tails?

they look like they have a black cover over them. they look good when lit up but without it lit up, well...

 

well heres some pics. post your thoughts. i'm prepared for a beating its getting dark here so its hard to tell exactly what they look like. i will take some more tomorrow. do you think i should paint the center section??

well actually i dont notice a difference from when they werent painted as far as lighting is concerned. the turn signal looks real good. the only thing i dont like is that they look a little dark. but maybe it will look better tomorrow in the day. yeah i will take some pics tomorrow. its different and im starting to like it.

i picked up my amber paint at canadian tire

 

I painted to tails on my friends hatch using transparent candy apple red model paint. It comes in a spray and matches the actual tail light color pretty damn good

 

should i paint the center section?

edit: and should i put clear coat over it to protect it?
