Common question, ill answer because I'm bored watching tv in the garage until my motor gets here. First off, congrats on the crx si, awesome car, don't do anything gay to it.

Secondly, yes, you will need the whole swap, block, head, axles and all accomidating hardware and wiring assocoated. You will need after market mounts as well the likes of which can be googled; B Series mounts for ef chasis.

Thirdly, I'm guessing that by loud you mean the prior owner did something gay like put a fart can on the back of a stock exaust. Change the muffler to stock, me personally, I have a 2.75 straight pipe running into a flow master cat back system, has a note I can *** with, deep, almost porshe boxster like under load. Either are better choices then a fart can.

Read, read, read before you start considering your swap. Based on you saying you are new to the modifying game I would say spend all the time you can reading the FAQs and such before you start throwing money at it. That way you have an idea of what your getting yourself into. You got a good platform to start with, just dont go all ricetastic.

If the exhaust is a complete system that is bigger than OEM, just get a big resonator and a cheap catalytic and it will quiet it down and reduce rasp, if it's just a tip welded on stock piping just get a stock exhaust welded back on there.

If you want to gain some sort of performance and have it sound a little louder and beefier than stock that is.
