PLEASE?? Rear Bumper Removal 90 Civic Hatch
Trust me, I searched quite a bit. Found a lot of non explanatory instructions.
Basically I am lost when it comes to the bolts (12's I believe) that are inside and under the trunk area. I found 2 gold nuts that are tall and domed on top (12) and I unbolted them (inside the trunk about 1.5 feet both sides from the center and 1/2 foot below the lights-ish). There was no movement from studs after I did so. I assume this is because there are two more below them? This is were my problem lies.... I cannot find them for the life of me! I even managed to pull back the bumper cover and unscrew it, so that is off and I still cannot find them.
Any ideas? Or something else I could be missing. The bumper support does not want to move, and I truly cannot find its roots.
Thanks
Jake

There are 2 more that you access under the car, also the two on each side of the fender wells. Lay under the rear bumper and look up, will be in about the same spots as the 2 gold ones you already removed but underneath the vehicle
there is two under the bumper like on the body of the car underneith just feel for them i think there 12mm and when you pop the hatch you take the plastic cover off under the latch and there will be two more 12mm bolts, then all you take off is the little screws in the wheel well and thats it.

Are there plastic covers with 2 philips screws each on each side??
Alright, I ran into this too and everyone just made fun of me for not being able to find them myself, the two that are underneath and behind the rear bumper support, usually have a plastic cover over them that you have to take off to even see them (to reduce rusting). These covers are hard to tell from the metal without a good amount of light under there with you. I wish I had pics but I dont. Basically like a foot or so in from each side they bolt through the cars frame under the trunk through the rear bumper support. Be careful and make sure you PB blast these suckers because they break easy! I hope this helps!

After I found those two beautiful nuts my long difficult journey was over, aside from some dirt falling into my eyes of course.
Thanks for the help everyone.
Not a problem, glad you got. I would put them back on if you can, saves you time cutting rusty bolts out if you have to take it off again ever.
I got a question....not so much about the bumper..the trim that runs down the side of the doors and fenders, on my passenger side i was hit and the trim got all bent so i took it off. It was falling off anyways, is it cool to leave it open until i get some new trim? or should i plug up the holes?
