Icon2 Starting Problems

Hey Guys,

Im having some troubles with my 99 honda accord v6. It happens when it is really hot outside. I start it up and it stays on for a couple of seconds and then it dies. The weird thing is i cant start it again after that. I have found that if i have the ignition in the on position for about an hour the car will start up after that and it wont have any problems. This doesnt happen everyday, it is kind of random. Some people have told me it might be the fuel pump and someone told me it could be spark plugs. Does anyone have any suggestions what it could be?

Start with eliminating the three key items needed (air, fuel, spark). When it is giving you trouble, not starting, check for fuel, spark ect. I could give you another long list of things it could be. Just replacing things without knowing will get very expensive, quickly.
Once it is narrowed down more detailed investagation will have to happen to find out why.

Its not spark. Car kranks, starter, alt is good. Does not start when you try to jump. It has to be a fuel problem because i have the same damn problem. It starts for a few secs sputters and then dies. like fuel cut out.... 2k accord with 103k miles. What is yours?? Like he said its random. This is the 2nd time in the summer that its happened. I'm leaning towards fuel pump.

check the main relay is supplying feed to the fuel pump first.
