Stain Removal in Automobile Carpeting Help
Hello Members, I have been doing auto detailing for around 5 years now, alot of clients automobiles that come through my business are really not dirty carpet wise, I had a mini van come in from a dealership as a trade in, and I was warned the carpets were pretty beat up, when I picked up the van up I almost had a heart attack, the carpets were that bad, I got about 50% of stains out of the carpet, but some of them didn't want to come out.
I tried viniger and cold water, I have tried purple power, and simple green and still some of the hard stains did not come out, it is not coffee or coke from what I can tell, it looks like dirt or grease, after I worked and worked to get the stains out, they just seem like they are not coming out, I tried using some stuff called fiber pro which is a high traffic carpet cleaner, I pre treated the stains and scrubbed them and then finished cleaning with my carpet extractor, still the stains did not come out.
Does any other detail pro have any tips or tricks to remove deep dirt or grease stains in carpeting ??
Thank you
Thomas Ressler

There are many products in the market to help you clean stains on carpets, these can be used to clean stains safely, effectively, and cheaply. Using shaving cream or lotion is the best to remove any oil based or grease stain.
ive used brake cleaner quite a few times on grease spots. Make sure you try it on a place the isnt noticeable first to make sure it doesnt do anything crazy.
All stains should come out *Except Red Stains* Those require a special red dye removal. Spot shot, or a spot removal off your dealership chemical guys truck should evaporate the stains before your eyes.
and you can spray down all the carpet with a APC (all purpose cleaner) at full strength if you need to. let it set for 2-4 minutes and then get out a good scrubbing brush. then take plenty of towls and rub the carpet with them removing the stains onto the rag.
and also a bissel little green machine will work wonders, or any extractor will do.

I second that^
Bissel, Simplegreen(full concentrate), APC(full concentrate), heavy duty degreaser(full concentrate), and a thick bristle brush. Repeat 4to5 times or til desired result.

I have a Bissel LGM and I must say that even with the Bissel solution you can buy at Target etc you can notice a great difference. The only downfall I can see to the LGM is that it is indeed "little" and will take a decent amount of time to go through an entire car a few times. A great product for costing less than $100
