Default Has my ECU been chipped?

Has my ecu ever been chipped or socketed based on this picture? I am fairly sure that it has not but I don't know much about ecu chipping. Just want to make sure it's a virgin ecu. Thanks for the help.

Actually, it usually isn't... The solder is usually smooth, but not flat

agreed. also, i would be super surprised to see that someone had de-soldered a chip kit and gone back to fill in all of the sockets.

what you would look for are components still in the area bordered by the dashed line (C51, C52, IC3, IC4, R52 and J1) or empty or burnt looking solder joints in any of these locations.

in the case of a chipped ECU all that would be necessary to revert to stock is to cut/remove (depending on the type of jumper) the jumper at J1. not that you needed to know that... but maybe someone else will.
