tint spray from autozone, or ~10 mins in the oven to soften the glue. you can then pull the plastic covers off, spraypaint the insides black... diy black housing. since i actually helped ya, im going to agree... go stock.

An unfortunate choice of taillights...

But to answer your question, there is a tint spray that you can find at most hobby shops that's made for RC cars and stuff. Apply it in light coats until you get the tint that you want.

There's also that nightshade stuff or whatever its called. My friend used it on his taillights and it looked good, but he used it to black them out. I guess you could use it just like the tint stuff, but don't have experience with that.

Good luck.

I bought Rustoleum tint from Autozone for ~$12. I only did my interior lights on my 2000 ex. I taped off the plastic behind the light and taped off the parking glass exactly on the line! All that was tinted was the red. I tried to outsides but no matter how hard I tried it would run. This tint is extremely thin as you can assume, it has to be thin enough to be seen through. But it's amazing. I gave my inside lights one think coat each that didnt run because the lights sit flat. When no light is shined through the light, they are pitch black, when I hit the brakes a nice dark red light is shown through with a nice black border around the light. THE PAINT WILL STILL BE SOFT FOR ABOUT 2 DAYS! On the second day i showed my friend, he licked his thumb and rubbed a little layer off on the top. You can't see it unless you're at the perfect angle and squinting but it still pissed me the hell off.

Ah well then use those things as a test bed at least.

Also, make sure to throw at least one coat of clear over the tint if you are using it on the outside. I did and I love the results. No problems whatsoever since then (about a year and a half ago).
