98 civic EX no start. Replaced several parts. INPUT NEEDED
98 civic EX A/T . will turn but will not start. I replaced the ignition coil and rotor. when i put the key in the on position and put it out of park, i hear clicking from the main relay and the D FOR DRIVE box stays on , on the cluster. it stops clicking when in park and neutral then clicks only in other gears(clicking from relay is consistant tick tick tick tick.....). I have not swapped out the relay yet. I want to know what you guys think before i even go there.... maybe someone had same problem or knows what this is causing no start.car was running fine before this happened. THANKS -Dan
when you turn the ignition on, do you hear the main relay and do you hear the fuel pump priming?
Check if you have spark.
Also check the ECU for codes to see what may be wrong.
Does your engine light stay on or go away just before you srart?

i do hear the fuel pump prime, and main relay does a weird consistent clicking noise when took out of park or neutral. also when i move shifter slightly while in park it does the constant tick tick tick tick tick etc.... i will check for spark again, i did find it to be sparking, and i checked grounds. injectors are also my other thought. however there was fuel in the rail when i cracked the 17mm bolt on the end of the rail. i will have access to car on friday. thanks for input and i will take them all into consideration. updates to be posted
spark yes? pull a plug and look at it.
fuel from the rail should be fine. no fuel problem.
i'm sure it's getting air unless a duck died in your intake.
so timing would have to be off if all that is working ^^
