ZC Distributor Questions and Sugestions
After a long ordeal I got my 88 ZC powered civic running. The car will run for about 20 min before it stalls out on me. It will fire up 3-5 more times and run for 5min maybe then not at all. Obviously the first few times I start the car I'm getting spark, after it stalls Im not getting any spark at all.
Here's the thing...I bought the dizzy maybe 3 weeks ago, looked on the fourms, asked a few people and pinpointed the problem to the dizzy. Since it was under warenty I replaced it. The brand new one didn't work at all, for ***** and giggles I swaped out the Ignition Coil from the two dizzy, still no spark. Then I put them back, everytime I turned the sensor (on the engine side of the dizzy) I was getting GREAT SPARK Every Time!! Light blue in color and about an inch long. So I put everything back together, the car fired right up ran for 20min and repeated the above process.
I was told I have a weak coil...so Im waiting for a new coil from Napa
I'm just a little pissed that the Distributor from Auto Zone crapped out on me and the replacement didn't work at all!!
Any suggestions or comments would be great!!

It happens. Unless you specify a NEW part you will receive a refurbished part. If you don't know what that means, it means that the part you will receive was once damaged and the company rebuilt the part. This doesn't always guarantee that the part will be 100% operable, it's hit or miss (I've had my share of faulty alternators from a couple of different parts stores).
Random suggestion, when there is no spark have you tried checking to make sure the distributor is still receiving power from the plug with a voltmeter? If it is still receiving power then you can be sure the problem is limited to the distributor. If it is not receiving power then the problem lies further up stream.

So a friend came over with a ZC powered CRX. We compared the voltage coming from the 2 plugs. We got the same reading for the plug except for one wire so we switched the wires arround and it still didn't fire up! We were still using the "newest" distributor.
I'll check the volts again on my orgional dizzy after the engine stalls. Hypothetically if I wasn't getting juice from the plug after a "warm" engine stall, where would be the next place to check??
P.S. Main Relay is brand new!

Well if you still have access why don't you swap distributors completely from car to car and see if your car still dies out?
thats what I did before, the "newest" one didn't work at all...it was prob the ICM
I had to take the "newest" back on Fri. Auto Zone called me up lookin for it. I think Im gonna try a third dizzy next week and get my current one checked out at the store.
Could it be possible that a weak spark could stall the engine??
