Default Self-powered siren and no backup battery?

I bought both a self powered siren and backup battery. However my installer didnt install the backup battery because of the self-powered siren that trips when power is removed. I was just thinking though...what if a thief just disconnects the battery for 2 seconds and then reconnects it. Will the alarm reset or do I have to manually activate it again? Will the siren silence when the battery is reconnected? This is a Viper alarm system with 2 way pager remote capability. Should I put in that backup battery in the first place?

IF you have the backup battery installed for the alarm itself, it will automatically reset & rearm

The siren will continue to wail when power is reconnected

**I would highly recommend a well hidden installed backup battery for extra security to keep the entire alarm powered up

*Just to add..if a thief disconnects your main battery, most likely it will remain disconnected (especially if the cables are cut)
