I am working on a friends 01' S2000 and it was riddled with issues. it was brought to me not running and was told that it "sounded like a WRX" then stalled and would not crank again. So I pulled the coil packs to find 2 loose spark plugs (finger tight) and 2 melted coil packs. One of the plugs had completely melted away leaving only the upper ceramic and threaded collar.
After replacing the coil packs with new OEM units and new plugs, new battery, new main fuses (all had burned at the time of issue), cleaned all debris out and compression checking it I am still not getting any spark. I was intermittently losing voltage to the packs and now nothing at all. Any ideas guys? I am about to try replacing the ECM with a known good one but after that I am somewhat at a loss of what to do.

I know it misfired, it had stored codes for random misfire in all cylinders. I'm replacing the ECM and the crank position sensor in the morning since if that sensor goes it can cause that issue as well. Such a pain to get to that sensor too. Between working on this and the damn F body I have up in the air I need a damn break. Soon as I get the S figured out I have to start getting to work on my jeep. I'll update in the morning after swapping the parts but any ideas are welcome.

Actually got it started today, ECM was bad. Also all fuses and coil packs were replaced. NOw I'm dealing with getting the #1 sparkplug to thread back into it's hole. It will not catch threads even after rethreading it. MAy have to pull the head and have it welded/ re drilled and tapped.
