my 90 accord lx will turnover start for about literally a second and then shut off, i can do it over and over and same thing over and over. This happened to me twice before but about after 5-10 tries and a little gas it start and ran normal. Now it run at all. it just hit 180k miles but any ideas or information would be greatly appreciated. i feel its getting fuel and spark but something is holding back or maybe only fuel and spark for a quick second or 2 before it just shuts down. thanks

 

Try to confirm that there is fuel constantly reaching the injectors, if there isn't it might be the fuel pump, or just the fuel pump relay...it's happened before that we think it's the pump and its actually the relay..

 

Try getting direct 12V to the pump if the car stays on than it the relay...Hope this helps

 

Just in case anyone has similar problem it ended up being the ignition switch. thanks for the help though dragon joey

 

your main relay is going out. Mine was doing the exact samething. The Main relay is located under the stearing wheel. It's in the FAQ area. I picked up a remanufactored one of ebay for $25. Slipped it in and worked like a charm.
