tips on flaring lines with summit $40 37 degree tool...plz
im been practicing with this tool on some 3/16 line and just cant seem to get a good flare. after i cut the line, i let out enough line to make it flush with the surface of the tool, and then tighten down the wingnuts as tight as i can so that there is no gap in the tool. after that i tighten the head of the flare part as tight as i can get it. the line looks awful where it was clamped and cant really get a tube nut to slide over it, and the flare usually looks warped
ive tried tightening down the flare head a lil bit, backing off, tightening some more, backing off etc..till its flared

I've used that same exact tool with good results. Yeah you gotta make sure clamp is on tight. You could even use a smaller diameter hole on the clamp. When you cut the tube, make sure the end is as flat as possible and debur the inside and outside edges. That way the flared end will have a good seal against the other tube. Good luck. http://www.inlinetube.com/install%20...aring%2045.htm
thanks for the reply. i think some of my problem was after i cut the line, it was rounded and not flat....ill try that tomorrow and see how it turns out
