Air Intake took in water, had Bypass valve... anyone else have this happen?
SO, it dumped here in denver yesterday and I was driving home thorugh about 20 inches of ******* water.... my car goes --- wup, wup, wup, whoop, slows down and sorta starts to stall but never completely dies.... I turn it off, start it back up, rev it alittle, and away I went. Engine sounds fine today? Was the slow chugging of the engine due to the bypass valve choking the engine of air? or does it sound like it was due to the water actually getting in the engine and the bypass valve doing nothing?
To me it seems the wup, wup, chugging and slow intake of air was the bypass working ---- by letting small amounts of air in and stopping the water?
Anyone have this happen? I know my sound descriptions are shitty -- but just imagine the sound a rough idle makes but even lower and slower...
Any input welcome...

i have sucked up small amouts of water befor and the car just kind of bogged down but it didnt hurt anything , even if it did i think that AEM has a policy that if you damage your engine with the bypass valve due to water they will fix it or something i think
NExt time take your spark p[lugs out and crank your motor. if water squirts out then...well its self explanatory.
to be honest i think some water got in your engine but i guess it got cycled through or something, i dunno. when the bypass valve works it's just like a short ram intake so it shouldn't make your engine fumble up like that.
