ok i heard that the non VTEC h23a1 has the same amount of power as the h22a1 it just picks up slower. so i was thinking if you did a head swap an put the h22a1 VTEC head on the h23a1 block an got a new ecu would that give it more power with the VTEC acceleration? it was just something i thought about and was curious to see if anyone has done, experienced or heard of this before.
im new to hondas but im really interested an wanna learn as much as possible.

the h22a1 has more power i know this ive had both motors and look it up it will tell you the same. and you can do the swap but its not that easy. nothing like b series head swaps either. if thats the way you wanna go good luck. IMO youd be better off getting an h22 motor and cheaper
Theres plenty of info on this forum on that kind of head swap just search, you'll find all the info you need. But yes I agree its not as simple as the b series, it doesn't just bolt up.

oh wow see i thought that most honda engines were universal as long as you stayed in that series (b to b or d to d) but if they dont bolt right up how have people done the swaps, do they have to redrill or reme out or what?
