Hi guys,

I have a 96 Civic EK and I decided to flush the clutch fluids because I wasn't sure how old it was. It was also dark green in color so I knew something was wrong. Anyways I bleed it fine with zero air bubbles but now when i'm driving i feel that the pedal feel is drastically firmer than the way it was. I've read that you get a firmer feel after the change but it's a whole lot.

Was it just that the fluids were so bad it made a huge change or something went bad?

 

it might have been because it was so dirty. we get cars at my honda dealership that sometimes come in with green brake fluid and its horrible. brake fluid is supposed to start off clear and should be changed every 30k miles or so. depeding on driving conditions and so forth.

 

yeah it was nasty.

the pedal feels like it's twice the foot pressure that it was before. the guy who i bought the car from did tell me it was an aftermarket clutch so i'm guessing that the fluids were so crappy it made it feel 'stock' after so much neglect.

 

yup, may need to look into an oem clutch possibly.

 

if its an aftermarket clutch you will notice a stiffer pedal pressure normally.

 

thanks. it just felt so 'stock' like before the flush. what a difference good fluid makes!
