It gets painted in two weeks, I am doing all the prep work myself. Can I use a powersander or should I do it all by hand? What grit would you guys use? Any advice on where to start or other pointers would help me out.....thanks

Well, the car I'd use a big orbital sander and some 80-grit to start, then work on down to 600-800 for a mirror finish...

But fiberglass and urethane, I'd use 200 or so to start, ok to use the sander, to get most of the serioys stuff off. Then I'd do it all by hand with 200, getting the nooks and crannies, then work down to 600-800...

Looks almost done, but where you worked into the factory primer you will have little dips in the paint if you don't primer and wetsand it a couple of times. Also, make sure ALL of the factory clearcoat, if any, is off.

 

id just use a d/a with 600 over the hole car .if u dont have a d/a u can do it buy hand .u just have to take the shine off the paint.and use a gray scuff pad on the edges so the paint wont peal.it looks like ur gonna have to prim that bumper. id put like two coats of primer on it and block it out with 400 an then go back over it with 600.
