getting ready to change timing belt and water pump
so, im building my 1993 del sol si one peice of time cause i aint got no dime (jonny cash reference) and i have a leak in the water pump.
soooooo since that needs replaced, im going to replace time belt while im at it, 171xxxmi and stock belt lol according to the last and only owner before me.....
i want this car to be steet machine, low end torque, etc...... no plans for regular track racing.
i have $180 to buy the parts i need online. what else should i do while im down there? cam gears?

just use the cash to get a quality waterpump and timing belt kit.
cam gear doesn't need replaced - unless you want a pretty one on there...

A stock DelSol Si just has a regular d16z6 I believe, which isn't adjustable.
An adjustable cam gear provides no benefit to an otherwise stock engine. Just do timing belt and waterpump, and don't forget to get the waterpump gasket.
On a D series, the only engine mods that make a serious difference are:
z6/y8 transmission
z6/y8 head
z6/y8 intake manifold and airbox
y8 exhaust manifold
turbo (and everything that goes with it)
Seriously, the D-swap stuff can make a big difference on an otherwise stock car. If you've ever drove a CX EG before and after a d16y8 swap, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about... completely different car.
There is very little you can do to a stock D-series to make it ANY faster naturally aspirated without dropping a TON of money. Your best bet is usually to build it into a z6/y8, then turbo. Now, if you really are serious about doing things to it while you've got it apart, changing the timing belt is a good time to swap the head. It's a lot of the same work. I've seen decent heads go for around $100 used.
