Here is the story. I have a 98 teg ls. I blew the engine up. I bought a 95 teg motor that came out of a automatic ( mine is 5-speed). After i took the engine out i realize I have a crank fluxuation sensor by my crank on the 98 engine. I called Honda and they said that sensor is controlled through the distributor cap on the 95. Also i see that the wiring harness from the 95 has a extra senor for a cylinoid for an auto, which mine is not. I was goin to use my intake manifold off the old engine on the 95 when i got it in the car. How can i make this swap work without rewiring, cutting or havin a check engine light come on?
I'm not totally sure, but the block castings should be identical. If this is the case, then just set the two engines side by side and start swapping parts. I'd say to break it all down to bare long blocks (full rotating asseblies w/ head still installed). Take all the sensors from your old engine, and put them in the same hole on the 95. Use everything possible off of your engine (i/e: distributor, intake, sensors, harness, bolts). I used a B18A1 out of a 93 LS to drive on for a while in my 95 when I blew my engine. I had no problem doing this, so you should be able to make it work. Good luck.
