AUTOZONe owned again.....
so after 2 months and 25 days of daily driving with 3 race weekends and 3 sets of hawk BLUE pads....i decided it was time to look at my rotors....
begining thickness....3/4 of an inch.....
ending thickness.....less than 3/8 of an inch....
with about 1/16 of an inch of material left on the outside.....
so i take them off and head out to autozone.....
lay them on the counter....ask for a defective exchange....
he asked whoooooaaaa what happen did the caliper stick....i don't know sir...just looked at them and they were really bad....can i get a new pair of rotors.....
SURE YOU CAN.....i'll have to order them for you but yeah you'll get new ones.....

ownage.
soon Autozone is gonna start posting signs in the store to be weary of all ITR owners. 5 lug conversion guys may still be in the clear though.

I couldn't. Last time was my last time exchanging, I'm afraid
And the warranty is three months so this wont help most ITR owners, just those that use real pads

When I bought mine, the guy told me 90 day warranty. I thought Willard was the only guy that can bust them in less than 90 days! Congrats Chad!

So much can be accomplished if we put our minds to it...I ruined a timing belt less than a hour after I installed it on my old ITC Civic!! (left a a loose bolt inside the cover..chewed it right up)
actually.....took them off end of august....
so i actually killed them in under 2 months....but that was 3 track events and daily driving on hawk blues with numberous "virginia canyon runs"

my friend grew up in NYC and now moved to Indiana working at AutoZone and he told me same kind of story about customer bring stuff back after used and worn.
The manager said is ok to give them new ones for warranty and told him thats how it works out in the boonies. He was shock and said if this was in NYC, they tell u to "GET THE HELL OUT OF MY STORE!"

So, how is this different than people who bend valves due to mis-shifting and go to Acura to replace them under warranty? Defective exchange?
So that means any kind of wear is Deemed normal wear? Any specifics about the warranty because I might pick up a set if they cover all types of wear.

thats one of the reasons why I like shoping at autozone, they stick by their warranty. as opposed to oreilly and other small auto shops that try to be very stingy when you return something. Autozone.. regardless of who put it in.. or whose fault it is, it is under warranty and they have to give you a new one.
A lot of things autozone sells are lifetime warranties.. most of them for ridiculous things also. timing belts are like i believe 6 month, water pumps.. lifetime warranty
.. but i dunno if you would trust a rebuilt water pump to rev to 9000 rpms though.
