Default 1990 Accord - Burning smell and smoke

Hello all,

I drive a 1990 accord (ancient, I know..), and it has been getting a little bit "sick" lately.

Last December the very rear part of my exhaust system fell off - mostly just the muffler. It didn't seem to cause any problems (except my car is a wee bit louder now...doesn't bug me but I'm sure my neighbors have a few things to say about it )

Anyways, a few days ago another section of the exhaust fell off so there is basically no exhaust from about halfway on the car back. I'm not sure if this is related to my main problem today, but I figure its pertinent.

Today I drove my usual half hour drive to work and went pretty easy on it (don't want to shake anymore of the exhaust off of it ). When I got to work and stopped, there was a very, very strong smell of burning plastic and when I got out of the car there was smoke coming from the front-left wheel well. By the time I ran inside to set my stuff down and back out to open the hood it had stopped and I couldn't readily see anything that could have been smoking/melting.

I haven't gotten a chance to check fluids as the engine is still quite hot.

Sorry for the long explanation and hopefully someone can help. Please save my car!!!!
