My CRX revival *Rywire* *K-Tuned* *J's Racing* *Spoon* *Mugen*
Some of you might remember my CRX from 2006 when I drove out to California to stay with Ryan (Rywire) and both our cars got featured in Honda-Tuning.

A few months after I got home I decided to part out the swap and use the money for school. Well it didnt take long before I was missing the car and about a year after I started slowly buying parts back. Over the next 3 years I drove the car a few times. It was never "finished" or running correctly. Had a bunch of issues with wheel bearings, bought and sold a bunch of parts, im on my 3rd motor and 4th set of ITBs and never used a single set! Some pics are below:

EX knuckles, 2 piece fastbrakes rotors, 15mm spacers, Koni/GC, Skunk2 UCAs

Need the 15mm spacers to clear SW388s

"Lighter Faster" sunroof plug, took me and my buddy Bas a full day to put it in, countersunken screws and L-brackets, really nicely designed piece, best looking plug ive seen imo.

Motor:
K20 block sleeved to 89mm utilizing a Brian Crower billet 92mm stroker kit. Stock port head, EVS, Ti retainers, Blueprint stage 3 camshafts, Hayward performance 52mm street ITBS, 25 degree VTC gear, Mugen baffled oil pan, modified tensioner, DTR/SSR 4-2-1 header JDM K20a trans with 4.765 FD, 3inch aluminum exhaust with Burns ultra-light muffler. Hondata KPro

Wiretucked

J's Racing hood

Decals that go on the hood

Hybrid Racing shifter

Auto-Power roll bar, dual Spoon buckets and Takatas

J's Wing

Hayward ITBs that actually fit under the hood

This spring I decided to redo the engine bay as it was looking old and tired.

Motor out

drilling out the spot welded brackets

bay looking rough..

Headlight housing cut for alternator clearance from back when this was the only option for K-swaps in a CRX

Opposite headlight housing cut for the Neon rad I was using previously.

Mounting points for the wing are very close to the edge, going to have the bodyshop strengthen these...
Off to the bodyshop:
On arrival

A few days later they had made some progress

Remember those headlights? Fixed..

When the lower rad mounting area is cut it leaves a crap looking piece of bodywork which I had the bodyshop fix

Sandblasted

At one point in time there was a B-series motor in the car and this area had been pounded in with a hammer for alternator clearance which you can see a few pics up. Area has been cleaned up.
Seeing the car like this it became apparent that I should just repaint the whole car..

Everything is off the car, door jams will be painted, all glass pieces are out including the hatch glass, will be getting quite a few new mouldings.
Roof plug just wasnt going to cut it, found a DX roof that was completely rust free for $50. There goes $400 (cost of the roof plug)

mocked up

The car probably hasnt seen a winter in 15 years so it is almost completely rust free, except for a spot under the windshield moulding which is being repaired
John@K-tuned welded my rear mount to the subframe. You could put a little pressure on it before and it would flex big time, not anymore.. thanks buddy!

It will be sandblasted and powdercoated.
Fuel and brake system:

I will be using the DOT approved copper-nickle alloy "Cunifer" for both the fuel and brake lines..

garage is a disaster right now.. lol
I have to decide a colour now. Since the interior is not being painted and because white is my favorite colour on a CRX I have narrowed it down from about six to two whites.
Grand Prix white:

or
Ibis White (Audi)

very nice. i say stick with honda.gp white. oh and if you want to sell your sunroof cap, im interested.
The problem with the cap is I put the brackets in my roof first then drilled the holes through the cap as per the instructions. The cap could be reused on a different car but that car would need to have all the brackets in the same spot or else it will not work.. im not sure if that is really do-able but if you want I could probably sell it for cheap..

Subscribed for the ol' roommate! I enjoyed watching this car get built the first time...looking forward to seeing it on the road again!
Went by the bodyshop today, they were working on the roof..

While I was there they sandblasted my subframe, Hasport transmission bracket and OEM engine mount. They will be heading to the powdercoater tomorrow.

I Polished my mounts....
