Just got a 2002 Ep3 and not the biggest deal in the world, but I'd like to get rid of the antenna. One of the only things I dislike visually about the car. Anyways, I've searched, and searched and cant find anybody covering this. I've tried just unscrewing it but either way I turn it, it gets progressively harder to turn and obviously I dont want to break anything. Let me know if someone's done this and posted a DIY or if someone just happens to know!

i know Blox makes a super short antenna

 

it screws off...just like any other bolt...ive taken mine off many times when i take it to a drive through car wash.

 

Whats left after removal of the antenna? A hole to allow water to get in? Just curious.

water doesnt go in at all...like i said i take it through the drive-through car wash with out it on.

 

Well I figured out why I was having such an issue lol. The previous owner had cross threaded the antenna, either way I turned it, it became tighter so with a little force was able to finally get it out and thread it back in the right way. Still holds just fine, I just got the car so I didn't know if there was some sort of oddball thing you had to do to get it off, thanks though guys!
