ok i just put in a z6 with an a6 head that i got at a pretty good price because of a blown head gasket. it was hard to see the line on the crank pulley so i went ahead and set the 1st piston at tdc while the head was off and set the cam gear before installing the timing belt. i put the motor in and im not getting any codes from the ecu. no CEL. i am using dpfi, i read on here that it would work although i wouldnt get the performance, it would start. im using the original dizzy and obd-0 ecu so the dizzy and ecu are the same. should i possibly try a little starting fluid, maybe its just not getting enough gas still?

 

not getting fuel, timing off, master relay, bad ground

 

ok i got some starter fluid and no luck.. wouldnt that make it start even if it werent getting fuel and it would just die? and im for sure getting spark. i just wired it all up yesterday morning and may have looked over a ground.. i'll look through that, is there any way to check a master relay, would i be getting a code or anything?

 

fixed!! timing was off 180. rotated that cam gear around and it fired right up!
