Default full coilovers vs good strut and spring combo

I was wondering what would be a good suspension setup for a ef sedan with a b series? full coilovers, or good struts with ground controls, or what? need some opinions of ppl who have had both

I had tokico springs and 5 way adjustable struts on my 90 civic hatch and i couldnt find a happy median between it holding the road and bottoming out on a pot hole. But thats just my experience.
