Default EJ8 with 17's

I have noticed that these days 17's are not a popular choice for wheel size. I am asking those of you that have 17's on your ride what offset you are running and what drop. I just purchased a ej8 and have just put on some 17's I bought off craigslist for $50 bucks. They are 17x7 +45 with 205/40-17 Diamondback TR968. The tires are made by triangle tire co out of China. Couldn't pass them up at $60 a tire mounted and balanced including tax. Looking at running 5mm spacers up front with tokico hp coil/shock combo. Will it rub inside? Fenders are already rolled. I am close (finger width gap) at full lock w/o drop. Just looking to learn from past experiences.

No replies becuase almost all your going to hear is 17's are gay and ricer

The shocks your looking at suck for one, however there was a guy here with 17x7 +40 lowerd 2 inches and didn't rub at all
17's are quite big for a honda and you lose almost all your sideway,

The negative camber should help out alot

I don't understand how a honda can not be a ricer. It is what it is. Just cause you like fat sidewalls doesn't make your car any less rice. A honda can be clean, a honda can be overdone. I just remember going to the NOPI Nationals in 99 at Atlanta Motor Speedway and seeing plenty of clean civics w/o kits dropped on 18's. Looked good in my eyes. Guess I am old school when it comes to the import scene.

i will agree some cars look good with 17's others dont. But, this is your car, do your thing, not someone elses.

But not all honda's are ricers.

By the definition of some "rice" would include all cars produced by a car company rooted in an Asia country. By others "rice" only would include modifications that are gaudy, overly flashy, non-performance or performance hindering parts or even cars with such modifications. Others say it can include a certain driving style or just the general attitude of the owner/driver of the car.

By saying "17s are rice" they'd probably mean they're ugly or possibly going to hurt performance on the car.
