what all can be damaged by using the wrong coil?
So I bought my '92 Prelude S about 4 weeks ago.. and suddenly on the way home it died on me and wouldn't start last week after running awesome prior.
I replaced a bunch of stuff, main relay, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and bought a new coil. The old coil I pulled off was from a 2000 Prelude ?! So the last owner just stuck on a random coil to probably sell the car.
Well now I have the right coil on there but still no start. I ordered a used dizzy assembly and am going to try that later in the week when it comes in. (thinking the igniter or something else in the dizzy died)
Anything else the wrong coil could fry?
thanks

Maybe the problem is not fire related ... what else did you check??
i'm assuming the coil couldn't do much damage on its own if it ran good for 4 weeks
