Dual din block off plate advice
I went to a local junk yard to do some searching. I was lucky enough to get a '97 civic drink holder piece for $8. It's the type that has the bin and flip down cover.
I recently got a deck installed and they did a crappy job. My old deck was torn out along with the metal rails. The shop installed a POS single din bin that looks like doo doo and the deck placement is pretty lousy. Their excuse for the minor rattling was they had to find another way to hold the deck without the original rails.
My question is should I get a double din block off plate and relocate the deck to the '97 drink hold tray?

Anyway, I don't like the way my shiny deck looks with the non gloss oem center console. BTW, my deck has a remote so I won't have to worry about reaching down there. Also, I can't even find the frame rails anywhere for a decent price. F the dealership, I refuse to even ask them for a quote on the rails. The only place that has one of these is a place called Honda Heaven and they want $115 for it. What should I do?

you can make a block off plate with a piece of ABS ($2 maybe?) and some filler. I made one for my buddys race car and mounted some gauges in it. if you get it flush, youll never know it was there. i think when all was said and done, we spent about 2 hours (not counting drying time for paint and filler) and about $10 in parts.
