Poly RTA bushings, again
I have read parts of this discussion in various threads, but have some different questions.
I have tried to search and read the articles about poly bushings, especially RTA. I am told by one vendor who sells ES and Prothane that the ES are softer. Original ES bushings were more firm, like Prothane. I am not sure of the year of change. The supposed downside is limited motion. If poly bushings were to be used in RTA along with lowered car, stiffer spring rate and sway bars, will the lesser motion matter, or, be the right addition to the complete package. Why keep a “soft” RTA bushing and firm and limit motion of the rest. Of course, Honda designed it that way, but they also designed the whole car which we freely mod. I am using ES poly RTA with 10k front and 8k rear springs, with appropriate dampening, and about 2 inches lowering. I also have poly throughout the suspension. Actually did the RTA last and it seemed noticeable, at least by car feel and better control of the car in left and then right turn without straight section between. I no longer tap the brakes between The L and R, am slightly faster through the corner by riders look at the speedo, and have had other HPDE drivers notice increased corner speeds. I did not do actual lap times, to answer that question.
The poly bushings are about 6 months old except RTA and do not squeak yet. I used anti-seize to lube as recommended by race shop, not the ES lube.
I am looking for others experience. If you use and like poly, what spring rates, sway bars and similar. If you do not like poly, with what other suspension mods.
