hey guys. i recently ran over a can of red spray paint and it got all over my car.. so i thought about it and wondered how bad could a maaco paint job be. it has to look better than what i have now. so i stripped the car from trim panels quarter panels bumper, and side skirts. did alil bondo work for a few dents and had them paint my car.

Maaco seems to hire kids fresh from community college.

There's no way a chain can be the same as mom and pop places that have been doing local business for decades.

Such as our local body shop/hot rod guy said a guy got his 67 Camaro SS painted at Maaco for about 1k. It looked nice but then it chipped and flaked after a year! :p

Simply put, you get you pay for. Pay to play.

is the rear license plate area black normally/stock? or was that an artistic decision?

 

I know on the 98 DX it is, can't speak for any other years or trims, though.

 

it doesn't look bad at all from the pics. I know that they're paint sucks but for 200 bucks, u get what u pay for. If you're looking to get into shows or something then it may not be worth it, but if you're looking to get it to look better for now and in a year or two do it even better than 200 bucks is nothing.
